About This Piece.

We had been exploring a variety of emerging technologies, one of which was chatbots. As we dove deeper into all the possibilites available to us through conversation, we wondered what it would be like to remove the traditional navigation structure of a website and replace it with an intelligent interface. The goal was to demonstrate the power of conversation and slowly start to see if we could re-imagine the way we browse the internet. As the user engages with the chatbot we created, she surfaces content that pertains to the conversation and suggests other material that the user might be interested in learning more about. Instead of stumbling through some menus and searching for the information you seek, with Tess the user does what is natural to them and has a conversation.
